Challenge

The project aimed to tackle key challenges common in the crypto space, including complex onboarding for users unfamiliar with wallets or blockchain, perceived risk and trust issues around crypto transactions, and the technical difficulty of decentralized identity (DID) creation. Additionally, as a brand-new product, it required building a scalable design system from scratch, ensuring seamless developer handoff for rapid implementation, and making thoughtful UX decisions in the absence of existing patterns — all while adapting to feedback from community research in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The project addressed key crypto challenges: complex onboarding, trust concerns, and decentralized identity (DID) creation. As a new product, it required building a scalable design system, ensuring smooth developer handoff, and making UX decisions without existing patterns—while adapting to community feedback in an agile environment.

Design Process

I followed an Agile UX framework, beginning with Discovery and Research. In this phase, we conducted surveys within the crypto community to gather insights on user expectations, pain points, and perceptions around hybrid payment options and prediction markets. Additionally, we analyzed competitor platforms to uncover usability gaps and opportunities to build trust, which helped shape early design decisions with a user-first approach.

Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with developers to ensure design-to-dev alignment — optimizing components for Tailwind CSS and integrating shadcn UI elements effectively to streamline implementation and maintain consistency.

Built a complete design system from scratch, including component-specific tokens for colors, spacing, and typography compatible with Tailwind CSS and shadcn UI. Focused on developer ease — making design handoff efficient and reducing implementation time through tokenization and consistency.
